Operating through two primary segments—Laboratory Solutions and Bioscience Production—Avantor supports applications in monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, gene therapies, vaccines, cell therapies, mRNA vaccines and therapies, fluid handling technologies, buffer management, and small molecule products, with a global footprint spanning over 30 countries across the Americas, Europe, and AMEA regions and access to more than 300,000 customer locations. Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania, the company maintains an integrated business model with extensive manufacturing, distribution, and sales centers worldwide. Recent developments include the appointment of Emmanuel Ligner as President and CEO to drive growth and value creation in life sciences; divestiture of its clinical services business to Audax Private Equity for $650 million in 2025, rebranded as Resonant Clinical Solutions, to sharpen focus on lab and production businesses while generating approximately $500 million in after-tax cash proceeds for debt reduction; expansion of centralized service center model with a new Boston-area facility featuring specialized glassware washing and autoclaving; a strategic partnership with p-Chip Corporation announced in October 2025 to develop solutions for secure chain-of-identity, enhanced traceability, and digital process control in pharmaceutical and clinical manufacturing; and a significant capacity expansion at its European manufacturing site to quadruple production for biologics and therapies.
